Sullivan Hills camp summer programs

Sullivan Hills Camp is a beautiful place where memories are made. Campers from 1st -12th grade and people with special needs come and experience this unique place set apart to grow in relationships with one another and with Christ. Through activities, Bible study, games and worship, campers and staff explore what it means to be loved and accepted!

1st-6th grade

Sullivan Hills’ elementary programs are specifically designed to meet the unique needs of youth completing 1st through 6th grade during the 2017-2018 school year. Campers will spend time with their counselors exploring, discovering and growing through games, songs, fishing, paddle boating, homestead activities, Bible study and worship. The 4th-6th graders will enjoy learning to kayak and building their skills at the archery range. All campers will get to enjoy our high ropes course and zipline.

confirmation

Confirmation camp is one of the most effective forms of mutual ministry that Sullivan Hills Camp offers. Pastors and/or confirmation leaders bring their students to camp and teach two hours of their curriculum each morning, enabling the year’s Confirmation materials to be covered faster. Students spend the rest of their time (including overnight supervision) being led through life-changing programming experiences by our well-trained college-age summer staff of Christian role models.

A week at camp offers students the chance to experience our high ropes challenge course, kayaking, co-op activities that promote teamwork, creative arts, fishing and directly experiencing the beauty of God’s creation and intentionally learning more about nature. Both students and leaders take great joy in making new friendships (and renewing old ones if your group has already participated in Confirmation camp). At the heart of a Confirmation camp week at Sullivan Hills is fantastic fellowship and camaraderie for leaders with other leaders and for students with peers from other Lutheran churches. We are eager to serve you and your group – come once and this will quickly become an annual event!

7th-12th grade

Night Camp

This program is for 7th-12 graders! Campers will get to stay up until 2 a.m. to discover everything God’s creation has to offer after dark (they’ll get to sleep in to make sure they get plenty of rest!). In addition to normal camp activities, campers will do glow ziplining at dusk, night fishing, stargazing, night hiking and glow activities.

HIGH ADVENTURE BACKPACKING TRIP

Ready for an epic adventure? Travel with us we head to Steamboat Springs, Colorado for a week in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. Skilled backpacking guides will lead us from Rabbit Ears pass to the Steamboat ski area on this 3-day/2-night trip. We'll end with a gondula ride down the mountain and swimming at the hot springs.

The trip includes transportation, food, skilled instructors and camping equipment. Participants are responsible for their own backcountry clothing and sleeping bag. Transportation will be coming from Carol Joy Holling Camp in Ashland and picking campers up at Sullivan Hills Sunday evening. Participants will receive pre-trip information with packing lists and departure times.
