Family Water Olympics

Updated: Dec 18, 2020

These fun games and friendly competitions are a great way to beat the heat! While at home, Water Olympics are a great way to enjoy some camp fun while cooling down with your family and friends. So, grab your sunscreen and head outside!

Drip-Drip-Drop –

Following the concept of “Duck, Duck, Goose”, this game adds a water element to the fun. Friends will sit in a circle and have one cuppie. The “it” person will circle dropping a drip onto each person’s head and choose the “goose” by dumping the remainder of the cup and calling “drop”!

Sponge Pass –

This is a relay to see who can fill a cuppie the fastest. In order to fill your cuppie each person must soak a sponge at starting point “a” before skipping across the field to squeeze out their sponge into a cuppie at point “b.” Participants must then waddle like a duck back to the starting point to re-soak the sponge. The winner is the first person to fill their cuppie.

Sponge Toss –

Much like the game of hot potato, the faster you toss the sponge the better. Soak a large sponge in water and begin tossing to your partner. Each time you successfully catch it you make take a step back. Once you miss the catch, stop, re-soak your sponge and begin again!

Simon Says – Water Edition

Add a twist to the classic Simon Says game by having Simon include various aquatic-themed directions such as: walk like a penguin, make a fish face, do your best mermaid impression. While calling out the directions, include “rain” and use a hose to shower the participants.

Have some water fun this weekend!
